Who runs this

Photo Mosaic is a service operated by William Addis, an individual and sole proprietor. It is not a corporation or limited liability company. You can reach us at [email protected].

What it does

You make a page by uploading one picture. You share a link. People add photos with no account. Each photo becomes a tile, and the tiles form your picture. Anyone with the link can view the page, zoom in, and open a tile to see the photo, the name and the message that came with it.

Your photos, and other people in them

When you upload a picture or a photo you confirm that you have the right to share it, and that the people in it are happy to be shown on that page. If a photo shows a child, you confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian or have their permission.

You keep all rights to what you upload. You give us permission to store it, resize it and show it on the page it was added to, and to include it in that page's download and slideshow. That is the only thing we do with it.

What is not allowed

Do not upload anything illegal, anything sexual, anything that shows or encourages violence or abuse, anything that harasses or exposes another person, or anything you do not have the right to share. We remove illegal content and report it to the authorities as the law requires. We may hide or delete a page, or remove a photo, that breaks these terms.

The page owner

The person who makes a page gets a private owner link. There is no password and no account, so that link is the only key to the page: keep it safe. Anyone who has it can manage the page. The owner can remove any photo, choose to approve photos before they appear, change the words, close the page, and delete the page and everything on it at any time.

Removing a photo

If a photo of you is on a page and you want it gone, ask the page owner, use the “Report this page” link at the bottom of the page, or email [email protected]. A page that receives three reports is hidden from the public until we have reviewed it.

How long a page lasts

A free page takes uploads for 30 days. When uploads close, the page stays viewable for 30 more days. After that the page, its photos and its data are deleted and cannot be recovered. The owner page shows both dates from the first day. Each page holds up to 500 photos.

Paying to unlock

Making and sharing a page is free. Unlocking a page costs $19 once. It adds a print-ready download (a JPEG of 9600 × 12000 pixels), a slideshow for a TV or digital frame, and 90 more days of uploads from the day of payment. An unlocked page can be extended by 90 days for $5. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.

The unlock is a one-time payment and is non-refundable, except where required by law.

The download is a digital file. We do not sell or ship prints, and we make no promise about how it will look from any particular printer beyond its stated pixel size. If something went wrong with a payment, email [email protected] and we will put it right.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on a page copies your work without permission, email [email protected] with the page link, what the work is, and how to reach you. We will look at it and remove it where the complaint is valid.

Children

You must be at least 18 to create a mosaic or buy an unlock, and at least 13 to add photos through a shared link. Photo Mosaic is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not use it or upload photos. If you believe a child under 13 has uploaded information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

The service as it is

We work to keep pages available and safe, but the service is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of your photos: this is not a backup. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the page concerned.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Henry County, Illinois, or in the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois (Rock Island Division), and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing limits any non-waivable consumer rights under the law of your place of residence.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. See also our privacy page.
